GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Two state troopers who shot a gunman to death early New Years Day morning will be back on the job next week.

Michigan State Police officials say their investigation found that the troopers followed procedure and policy when confronting the gunman at a strip club near downtown Grand Rapids.

29-year old Chucky Lee Jackson died after he reportedly pointed a gun at the troopers. Jackson had allegedly just shot two men inside the Lady Godiva Bar on Market Street. The troopers were making a traffic stop when patrons poured out of the club as shooting erupted inside.

The troopers ran to the bar and confronted the gunman and shot him when he levelled the weapon at them.

The case will be reviewed by the Kent County Prosecutor's office for any possible law violations.
