ADA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A 53-year-old man died after a tree limb he was cutting fell on him at an Ada Township residence.
It happened before 8 p.m. Sept. 18 in the 9400 block of Three Mile Road NE.
The Kent County Sheriff's Department on Sept. 24 released the victim's identity -- Kenneth Hope from Saranac.
A woman in the area told 24 Hour News 8 the tree was on her property. She said it had sustained damage in a recent storm and she had given Hope permission to cut it down for firewood.
Hope was pinned under the tree for an unknown amount of time, police said.
Efforts by emergency personnel to revive the victim were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
