STANTON, Mich. (WOOD) - A 32-year-old Crystal resident was sentenced Thursday in Montcalm County Circuit Court to a maximum of 15 years in prison.
Gerald Campbell, Jr. pleaded no contest to four sex charges last year. He was charged with two separate charges of AIDS sexual penetration with an uninformed partner and two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct.
The charges stem from Campbell having sex with two women from Carson City and Hubbardston, and two underage girls from Belding and Crystal. He failed to inform them at the time that he was HIV positive.
His plea of no contest means he does not admit guilt, but it is treated like a guilty plea.
Campbell received a sentence of 30 months to four years on the first two counts of AIDS sexual penetration, and 10 to 15 years on the CSC charges. That means he will spend a minimum of 10 years in prison and a maximum of 15 years.
Campbell was remanded to custody after his sentencing.
