Lansing (WOOD) - Michigan's unemployment rate continues to rise.  New figures from the Michigan Department of Labor & Economic Growth show the unemployment rate went up 0.6% to 9.3% in October.

The rate is 1.8% higher than one year ago, when it was 7.5%.  Michigan remains well above the national jobless rate, which was 6.5% in October.

Michigan's unemployment rate is at its highest level since July 1992. October was the fourth straight month of overall job loss, as Michigan lost 64,000 jobs last month.
