MARSHALL, Mich. (WOOD) - The city of Marshall will need a new manager come next summer.

According to City Commissioner James Dyer, City Manager Chris Olson announced Monday night he is resigning.

Olson will remain on the job until June 30. Dyer wants to emphasize that while Olson has announced he will resign, he retains his full powers as city manager until he actually leaves office.

Olson issued Tuesday a statement that cited differences between him, the mayor and the council.

As for Olson's replacement, Dyer said no talks have taken place among the council because three new members take their seats in January, and it will be up to the new council to make that decision.
