GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - The father of one of two men shot during a New Years Eve party at a Grand Rapids strip club says his son will recover from his wounds.

Howard Harris Sr. said his 27-year-old son, Howard Harris, was shot three times in the chest Wednesday night. "One shot just missed his heart," the elder Harris said.

The suspected shooter, Chucky Jackson, was shot by Michigan State Police troopers outside of the club a short time later.

Harris is listed in serious condition at Spectrum Butterworth.

Officials at Saint Mary's Medical Center could not confirm earlier reports that the other victim, Michael Gritzmaker, 33, was hospitalized there.

Gritzmaker is an employee at Lady Godiva's on Market Street.

Howard Harris Sr. told 24 Hour News 8 he doesn't know if his son knew Chucky Jackson, or what lead to the shooting.
