Investigators bust meth lab in K'zoo

2 men arrested on multiple charges

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) - Investigators from the Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team (KVET) busting a meth lab in the 2100 block of Golfview Drive in Kalamazoo Friday.

KVET got a search warrant as part of an on-going investigation into the manufacturing and distribution of methamphetamine at the residence.

They entered the home just before 4:30 p.m. Once inside, investigators found an active meth lab in the basement. They also found methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana, and numerous prescription pills.

The 38-year-old man living at the residence had a felony warrant and was arrested for it and additional charges.

Charges for manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, and possession of cocaine will be submitted to the Kalamazoo County Prosecutor’s Office for review pending lab analysis results.

A 36-year-old man from Vicksburg was arrested on two felony warrants for probation violation and additional charges for possession of methamphetamine will be sought.

Investigators found a large amount of meth making components throughout the residence and called a private contractor to remove the hazardous waste.

The Kalamazoo County Health Department was also notified and will conduct further testing at the property.
