Invensys Controls shuts down

150 more out of work

HOLLAND, Mich. (WOOD) - Invensys Control will shut down, leaving another 150 people out of work.

The company, located on James Street, is a manufacturer of smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, thermostats, and services used in appliances, heating, air conditioning/cooling and refrigeration. They cited the tough economy and its effects on the appliance industry.

The Illinois-based company is also closing its facility in Chihuahua, Mexico, for an overall total of 309 lost jobs. The operations from the two closed plants will be moved to another plant in Matamoros, Mexico.

Severance packages will be offered, along with placement services.
