GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (AP) - Grand Valley State football star Jimmy Berezik has pleaded guilty to two charges after being caught in a police sweep to fight underage drinking on campus.
Berezik led the 11-1 Lakers in rushing last fall.
The sophomore running back from Fraser was arrested at a party near the Allendale campus on the same day he set an NCAA Division II playoff rushing record of 207 yards in a win over Ashland.
Berezik was suspended indefinitely from the team.
The 19-year-old pleaded guilty Monday in a Grand Haven courtroom to a felony count of resisting and opposing an officer and a misdemeanor charge of being a minor in possession of alcohol.
Berezik declined to comment afterward.
He faces up to two years in prison at his March 23 sentencing.
