A proposed casino for Fruitport Township will now be able to serve liquor after the license transfer was OK'd.

At the February 23 board meeting, commissioners voted unanimously to approve the transfer a liquor license, once held by the Great Lakes Downs racetrack, to the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians.

The Michigan Liquor Control Commission has final approval of the transfer.

The Little River Band is the same tribe that operates the Little River Casino in Manistee.
