Icy roads delayed response time

OAKFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich (WOOD) - A family of six now homeless after fire ripped through their Kent County mobile home.

The fire started around  8 p.m. Sunday in the 1100 block of Heinzelman Road in Oakfield Township.

Firefighters tell 24 Hour News 8 the fire started near a hot water heater.

No one was injured in the blaze but the mobile home is a total loss.

Fire crews said that icy roads in the area delayed the firefighters response time.

The Red Cross is helping out the family.
