BIG RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - After his wild escape from the Mecosta County Jail, Jonathon Good hid out at an off-campus house in the 100 block of Stewart Avenue near Ferris State University.
The fraternity brothers who live there still can't believe they came so close to running into a dangerous man with little to lose.
Good not only hid out at the house, he slept in Erik Parsons' bed and stole his clothers.
"He took my ski jacket, one of my hoodies, a sweater, and my New Balance shoes, which they found on him when they caught him," Parsons told 24 Hour News 8.
Parsons said Good most likely looked out his third story window to observe police while they canvassed the area. "You can see the great vantage point when they were doing the block by block search."
Parsons and his other fraternity brothers were gone for the Thanksgiving holiday. While Parsons had his clothes stolen, Matt McMillian's identity was taken.
"I had an old debit card and insurance card in here," McMillian said. "It was expired, but he took it out of here and took a baseball cap from me and my subwoofers from my speakers."
Several of the house members were contacted by police even before they came back to school. They're all relieved Good is off the streets, and glad they didn't come face-to-face with an escaped prisoner.
