Elderly couple injured in crash

JENISON, Mich. (WOOD) - An elderly couple were injured when their van crashed near Jenison Monday morning.

The crash occurred at around 9 a.m. on eastbound I-196 near the Chicago Drive exit.

Investigators told 24 Hour News 8 the woman was driving and fell asleep. She woke up and over-corrected, and the van went off the road, down an embankment and rolled over.

She and her husband suffered non life-threatening injuries and taken to a hospital.
