GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Troy Brake, in court Thursday for two cases in Grand Rapids, rejected a plea deal in both.
Brake is facing two counts of assault with intent to murder, weapons felony firearm and first-degree criminal sexual conduct. He is accused of choking, beating and sexually assaulting a prostitute in Grand Rapids in October 2008 in the first case.
In the second case, another woman testified about her encounter with Brake. She said they made a deal for sex, but when Brake didn't have the money to pay up front she took his radar detector from his pickup truck. She also testified that she noticed the gun when rushing to a friend's car, waiting nearby.
No court date has been set on these cases.
Brake is also a suspect in the murders of four people in a Wright Township home on September 29, 2008. In that case, the house was set on fire after the killings.
He is also being looked at in the killings of three prostitutes in Grand Rapids in the past few years.
