MECOSTA, Mich. (WOOD) - A man who police say was the ringleader of a group allegedly involved in a massive crime spree has escaped custody.
It was just before 10:30 p.m. Wednesday when Jonathan Good, 36, slipped away from the Mecosta County Jail. Area police agencies were notified a short time later to be on the lookout for Good who is considered dangerous.
Good and four others have been charged in connection with at least 10 burglaries at businesses in six counties -- Barry, Ionia, Montcalm, Mecosta, Eaton, and Clinton.
The spree ended in March when the group was arrested after allegedly shooting up a home in Morley. Investigators say the suspects were trying to keep the homeowner from identifying members of the group who had taken the husband and wife hostage during a home invasion three days before.
Good was later convicted of at least 30 felony charges, including attempted murder and kidnapping.
He is described as being 5'8" tall, weighing 160 pounds, having brown, shaggy, longer hair, a goatee, and might be wearing glasses.
You are asked to call 911 or the Mecosta County Sheriff's Office if you see Good.
