1 dead, 2 hurt in Dorr Township crash

DORR TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - One person died and 2 others were seriously injured in a crash near the intersection of 21st Street and 108th Avenue in Dorr Township.

The Allegan County Sheriff's Department says alcohol was a factor in the crash.

Investigators tell 24 Hour News 8 that 18-year-old Daniel Pastoor from Grandville was driving a truck heading north on 21st St. when he ran a stop sign and hit an SUV just before midnight Friday evening.

63-year-old Diane Walquist of Byron Center was a passenger in the SUV. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver was 65-year-old Carl Walquist, also of Byron Center. He is listed in stable condition at St. Mary's Hospital. Pastoor is listed in stable condition and in ICU at Butterworth Hospital.
