BANGOR, Mich. (WOOD) - The Bangor School Board accepted Monday night the resignation of a teacher who got in trouble for something she wrote on Facebook.com.

Band Director Morgan Wyhowski resigned her position.

Board members say the resignation was accepted by a 6-to-1 vote but refused to give reasons for the dismissal, calling it a personnel matter.

The district started investigating Wyhowski for "disturbing references to Bangor Public Schools students on her Facebook."

The Bangor Police Department also says that a complaint was filed against Wyhowski and that an investigation is underway.

Wyhowski is 23 years old and was in her first year at the school. Neither board members nor police will say what comments Wyhowski made.

Wyhowski was put on paid administrative leave Dec. 30, and was told not to have any contact with students or parents, and to stay off school grounds.
