KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) - A downtown Kalamazoo movie theater is changing ownership.

The lease is not being renewed for Rave Motion Pictures cinema, 180 Portage St., according to a news release from Downtown Kalamazoo Inc.

"A new movie theater operator is in negotiations with Rave, and the property owner. The property owner is very confident that the lease agreement will be signed within weeks. We know that part of the negotiations are to make sure the theater does not go dark over the holidays. The intention is to go dark early January for major renovations to meet the new movie theater corporate footprint. The new movie theater operator will offer a unique movie experience. Stay tuned for developments."
