GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - A movie that filmed scenes over a year and a half ago here in West Michigan is ready to hit theaters.

The movie, "Touchback, " is reportedly scheduled to hit theaters in the Grand Rapids market on April 27.

"Touchback" was filmed for several weeks in the summer of 2010, primarily in the Coopersville area, but also in Grand Rapids and Detroit.

The film casts Brian Presley as the lead role, who also co-produced the movie. He plays a former high school quarterback who is transported back in time and given the chance to relive a critical point in his athletic career.

Presley described the film as a football fantasy with inspirational messages about life choices and second chances.

Kurt Russell plays the head coach, Melanie Lynskey as his wife, and Mark Blucas as a friend and teammate. Academy Award and Golden Globe winner Christine Lahti stars as the mother, and former Detroit Lions running back Barry Sanders plays in a cameo role as assistant coach.
