GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Author-playwright-columnist Mitch Albom, who wrote a play in honor of longtime Tigers broadcaster Ernie Harwell, was in Grand Rapids for the opening night of a 12-performance run to benefit Hospice of Michigan.
"Ernie" will be performed at Wealthy Theater. The first performance, a matinee, included Albom and nine former Tigers: Howard Bailey, Barbaro Garbey, Rick Leach, Scott Lusader, Dan Petry, Pat Sheridan, Mickey Stanley and Thomas Timmerman.
Albom spoke with 24 Hour News 8 Sports Director Jack Doles. Watch the video for the complete report.
