GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Many fans of 1980s rock music are disappointed as an upcoming concert in West Michigan has been postponed.

Journey with Pat Benatar featuring Neil Giraldo and Loverboy was scheduled for Saturday at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids.

But Journey's lead singer -- Arnel Pineda -- has been diagnosed with severe laryngeal and esophageal inflammation, and is under doctor's orders not to perform for the next week, according to a news release.

The following concert dates have been postponed --

-- Nov. 8 at the Ford Center in Evansville, Ind.
-- Nov. 10 at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids
-- Nov. 11 at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Ind.
-- Nov. 13 at the iWireless Center in Moline, Ill.
-- Nov. 14 at the Tyson Center in Sioux City, Iowa

The tour will resume Nov. 16 at the BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee.
The postponed dates have been rescheduled for January/February 2013. Tickets will be honored for the new concerts. Refunds can be obtained at point of purchase.

In a series of news releases, SMG Grand Rapids -- who booked the show at Van Andel Arena -- offered decreasing discounts to the Grand Rapids International Wine, Beer and Food Festival.

At first, they offered a buy-one-get-one-free admission for Journey ticketholders to the three-day wine and beer event.

A few hours later, SMG officials revised that offer to $5 off the entry fee to the three-day event.

Then, around 3 p.m., the $5 wine-and-beer discount will only be available for Saturday between 12 - 4 p.m.

Also, Journey ticketholders can get a discount for Monday's Bob Dylan-Mark Knopfler concert at Van Andel Arena. The discount will make the least expensive seats $37.50. But Journey ticketholders must show up at the Van Andel Arena box office in person, and do so before 8 p.m. Saturday.
