GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Since One Trick Pony opened, musician Ralston Bowles was "the driving force behind the music for our Acoustic Stew and Hat Trick Series," said owner Dan Verhil.
Now, it's time to help Ralston.
A fundraiser is set for Sunday, June 28 at One Trick Pony to help Bowles and his family offset medical costs because of his cancer treatment. Peter Mulvey and Amy Speace will perform twice Sunday, at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Tickets are $25 and are available at all three Schuler Books and Music locations.
A separate all-day fundraiser is set for Sunday, August 2 on LaGrave Avenue outside One Trick Pony and The Cottage Bar. Michigan musicians who are friends of Ralston's will perform.
In a statement, Verhil said, “The street party will accommodate all those who are stepping up, wanting to help Ralston, who has done so much for the music community and the schools in Grand Rapids."
Anyone who wants to can make a donation to the Ralston Bowles Family Fund at any Macatawa Bank location.
