SAUGATUCK, Mich. (WOOD) - The 11th Annual Waterfront Film Festival will kick off June 11 and feature more than 70 films.
On Monday, the film festival released an initial list of the films that will be shown. It will be the Midwest premiere for five of those films. Several were nominated at the Sundance Film Festival.
"The Answer Man" is a comedy that stars Michigan's Jeff Daniels, along with Lauren Graham and Lou Taylor Pucci. The characters are looking for answers to the universe.
"World's Greatest Dad" is a dark, adult comedy starring Robin Williams, who plays a frustrated high school poetry teacher and single father.
After a freak accident, he faces tragedy and opportunity.
"Women in Trouble" is written and directed by Sebastian Gutierrez, who did "Snakes on a Plane." It features Carla Gugino of "Watchmen," Connie Britton of "Spin City," Adrianne Palicki of "Friday Night Lights" and Marley Shelton of "Eleventh Hour."
"Children of Invention" is a drama that examines the American Dream through a new perspective. It looks at the modern day immigrant experience.
"Lost son of Havana" is a documentary about baseball Hall-of-Famer Luis Tiant who pitched for the Cleveland Indians. Tiant is a Cuba native who left in 1961, then returned after a 46-year exile.
"Peter and Vandy" is a romantic comedy about a young couple in Manhattan starring Jason Ritter and Jess Weixler.
Day passes will sell for about $70 a piece.
A complete list of films will be released later this month.
