GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Lights, camera, action: Three movies are set to film in the Grand Rapids area this summer.
Football players with an interest in acting will receive the opportunity to audition for a movie: "Touchback" seeks experienced players ages 18 to 30.
The prospective actors will help fill out the cast for the sports drama, set to begin filming later this month and into August. Those interested will be required to register with the casting company ahead of time.
Although the exact date of the casting call hasn't been announced, it will most likely be held the last week of July in the Grand Rapids area.
These calls always receive a lot of interest, such as June's casting call for "30 Minutes or Less," which will film around West Michigan in August.
Danny McBride, Aziz Ansari and Fred Ward star in the movie, which is directed by Ruben Flesicher, who also oversaw "Zombieland."
One of the film's main filming locations is Vito's Pizza on Fulton, which will continue with delivery and pickup service throughout production. "30 Minutes or Less" is set to film in West Michigan through October.
Also coming to the area in August is the supernatural thriller "Playback" from a pair of New York producers.
