LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Michigan Republicans are trying to put the political differences that surfaced during a rough gubernatorial campaign behind them.
The party's candidates for governor all gathered in Lansing on Wednesday in a show of unity for Ann Arbor businessman Rick Snyder.
The former Gateway computer executive won Tuesday's Republican primary and will face Democrat Virg Bernero in November.
U.S. Rep. Pete Hoekstra, Attorney General Mike Cox, Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard and state Sen. Tom George all joined Snyder at the head table for a Republican unity luncheon.
Snyder ran as an outsider who called some of his opponents career politicians. He's not as conservative as the men he defeated in the primary.
