DETROIT (AP) - The two leading candidates for Michigan governor are traveling the state on the final day before Michigan voters head to the polls.
Democrat Virg Bernero had at least eight campaign stops scheduled Monday including two in Detroit, where he began the day with running mate Southfield Mayor Brenda Lawrence. Bernero also was scheduled to appear in the Detroit suburbs of Wayne, Southfield and Canton, before visiting Ypsilanti, East Lansing and Ann Arbor.
Republican Rick Snyder began the campaign's final day at The West Sider Cafe on Walker Avenue in Grand Rapids in West Michigan before heading to stops in Portland, East Lansing, Grand Blanc and Ann Arbor.
Both candidates also appeared for TV and radio interviews. Democratic Gov. Jennifer Granholm can't run for re-election because of the state's term limits law.
