What's new for ArtPrize 2012

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - There are a few things that have changed this year for ArtPrize.  When you go to vote, there's no  "thumbs down" this year, just a thumbs up!  You also won't be seeing work by some artists who might be very familiar to you because any artist named in the top ten last year could not enter this year.  Top prizes have also changed.  The total prize money is $560,000 with $360,000 of that determined solely by public vote.  Other prizes will be juried awards in five different categories. The Top 10 winners will receive cash prizes, with the first-place winner taking home $200,000. On September 25, the Top 25 for public vote, and the Top 5 for each of the five juried awards will be announced at 7 p.m. live on WOOD TV8.  On September 30, we'll bring you the Top 10 streamed live on www.woodtv.com.  The big finale will be another live WOOD TV event October 5 at 8 p.m. .
