GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Before the kids head back to school there's a fun event taking place at John Ball Zoo.  It's the first annual Walk the Zoo with Maranda, presented by Priority Health.  The event takes place Wednesday, August 22 at 8am at the John Ball Zoo.  West Michigan families are encouraged to come out for a half-hour walk through the zoo, which includes a hike through the new Idema Forest Realm.  After the walk, participants will receive a t-shirt, goodie bag and be invited to stay and enjoy the zoo.  The cost is $5 per person and a portion of the cost will be donated to the new tiger exhibit coming soon to the John Ball Zoo
