Cedar Springs opens new snowmobile museum

CEDAR SPRINGS, Mich. (WOOD) - Snowmobile season is in full swing!  For sled enthusiasts, the new West Michigan Snowmobile Museum and Library in Cedar Springs is the place to check out ! The museum, located west of Meijer, at 13969 Francis Way, is the first of its kind in West Michigan. The museum was created to preserve and display the history of snowmobiling, including memorabilia and literature, and to help the Cedar Springs community with special events related to snowmobiling.

The museum has antique and vintage snowmobiles and sleds that are rare to come by.  There are 45 beautiful displays permanently on exhibit along with different models that will be on loan from individuals.  The museum also features a library that is the first of it's kind to detail snowmobiling from its beginning.

The museum is open Thursdays from 4 - 7 p.m., Fridays from Noon - 7 p.m. and Saturdays from Noon - 4 p.m.   Admission is free, but donations are excepted.  Memberships are also available for $40 per year.  For more information call (616) 636-7232.
