Tasty ideas for your "Big Game" party

Three recipes to wow your guests

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - With the "Big Game" coming up this Sunday, parties will be taking place in living rooms across America. Our friends at Spartan Stores have teamed up with Johnsonville to create three tasty recipes that will be a hit with your party guests.

Super Party Brat Sub Hoagie

What you need:
1 package (19 ounces) Johnsonville Original Bratwurst
1 medium sweet red pepper, sliced
1 medium yellow pepper, sliced
1 medium green pepper, sliced
1 large onion, sliced
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 loaf (1 pound) French bread
6 Slices provolone cheese

Preparation
1.    Grill brats according to package directions. When cool enough to handle, cut into ¼-inch bias slices.
2.    In a skillet, sauteé peppers and onion in oil until tender; set aside.
3.    Slice French bread lengthwise and transfer to a baking sheet. Layer bottom of bread bottom with brats, peppers and mixture and provolone cheese.
4.    Place top of bread on hoagie and bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Cut hoagie and serve hot.

Spicy Sausage Queso Tip

What you need:
1 package (16 ounces) Johnsonville All Natural Ground Italian Sausage
2 pounds Velveeta process cheese, cubed
1 jar (16 ounces) chunky salsa
1 tablespoon fennel seed, crushed
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon anise seed, crushed
¼ teaspoon dried basil
Garlic toast

Preparation
1.    In a skillet, cook and crumble sausage until no longer pink, and drain.
2.    Place cheese in a large microwave-safe bowl.
3.    Microwave on high for 6 minutes or until melted, stirring every 2 minutes.
4.    Stir in the salsa, seasonings and sausage.
5.    Microwave 2 minutes longer or until heated through. 
6.    Serve with garlic toast.

Sausage Chips And Honey Mustard Dip

What you need:
1 package (13.5 ounces) Johnsonville Smoked, Polish or Andouille Premium Cooking Sausage
1/3 cup mayonnaise
¼ cup spicy brown mustard
2 tablespoons honey

Preparation
1.    Place sausage in the freezer for 25 to 30 minutes.
2.    Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
3.    When sausage is firm, but not completely frozen, carefully cut, on a diagonal, into very thin slices.
4.    Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Arrange sausage slices in a single layer on baking sheets.
5.    Bake for 15 minutes, using tongs to flip the sausage every once in a while.
6.    Bake 10 to 15 minutes longer or until lightly browned. Drain on paper towels.
7.    In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, mustard and honey.
8.    Serve with sausage chips.
