GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - eightWest is all about focusing on what's local and sharing great finds with West Michigan. Now there's something you can do to help put a little extra into the local economy. Executive Director of Local First, Elissa Hillary, talks to Terri and Rachael about their 10 X 10 effort. They urge us to take the 10 X 10 Pledge and become part of a healthy, sustainable food system by putting aside just $10 a week from our food budgets and putting it toward local food sources. From switching to a local coffee shop from your usual chain to picking up produce from a local farmers market, there are plenty of ways to make the switch. Buy local food to support your neighbors and keep Michigan's economy strong and vibrant.
