GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Automakers from around the world are showing off over three hundred cars, trucks and SUVs at the Michigan International Auto Show January 31 through February 3 at DeVos Place in Grand Rapids. This year, there's something new in store. Blair Sharpe from the Sharpe Collection and Brad Kaufmann, the director of Annual Giving for the Helen DeVos Children's Hospital Foundation join us in studio to discuss what's new. The auto show kicks off with a gala premiere the night before the opening, featuring a  fun competition called Fashion Overdrive. It's a competition similar to Iron Chef with stylists from a dozen different salons being paired up with a featured car. Each stylist will have an hour to make up a model to match their car. There will also be a runway competition with judges deciding who has the best look. The proceeds will go to the Helen DeVos Children's Hospital Foundation . So far in the past eight years, $700,000 have for this foundation.
