Morning Chit Chat: Transit of Venus

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - On June 5, Venus passes directly between earth and the sun, an event that won't occur again until December 2117.  This rare alignment is historically how we measured the size of our solar system. Observers in North America can see Venus on June 5 around 6:04 p.m. EDT until sunset. The entire transit lasts over six hours.
