Christmas pickle and New Year's fun

Rachael starts a new tradition at her house involving the Christmas pickle. You hide it on the tree and the first person who finds it on Christmas morning gets to open the first present!
 
Jordan shares her top five picks for ringing in the New Year.  Here's her list:
 
1. Rosa Parks Circle -NYE The party and ball drop return to downtown Grand Rapids on the last night of the year when Hot FM hosts the Hot New Year's Eve Party.  Enjoy live entertainment with the New Boyz, Baby Bash and The Outer Vibe.  It's all free and it starts at 7 p.m.
 
2. JW Marriott    Join the Social Sizzle at the JDUB party. The JW's International Ballroom will be transformed into a unique Caribbean experience, complete with a reggae shack, DJ and more.  Tickets are $40 each for this event that starts at 7 p.m. and includes events at the Amway after 10 p.m.
 
3. DeVos Performance Hall- 50’s dance party
Experience an authentic re-creation of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper's "Winter Dance Party" tour show. Celebrate the New Year with live hit songs from the '50s at D eVos Hall. Tickets are $18 for adults and students get in for $5. The concert starts at 7:30 p.m.
 
4. New Year's Eve Party at Rockwell Republic
The party at Rockwell Republic is a masquerade.  The event includes a champagne toast, live DJ, and great food. Tickets are $20 in advance and $30 the day of the party.  A free trolley will run between Rockwell Republic and Monte's and O'Toole's between midnight and 3 a.m.  Rockwell Republic is located at 45 Division Ave South in Grand Rapids and 10 p.m. is start time.
 
Bonus: Family Fun for NYE
Take the kids downtown to the Grand Rapids Children’s Museum on December 31 for some early evening fun.  From 6 p..m. - 8 p.m., kids can decorate hats, create noisemakers and enjoy kid-friendly hors d'oeuvres and drinks followed by a countdown and balloon drop at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 and $12 and reservations are required.
