LAKE ODESSA, Mich. (WOOD) - Right now, Mackenzie's Animal Sanctuary is home for a fun loving dog who is looking for a forever fit. Mackenzie's runs the Mid West's largest sheltered no-kill sanctuary and one of the dogs they have there now is sure to steal hearts with his adorable face. Hungry Howie is a 5-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix who was rescued from a garage in Kent County by Animal Control. The staff at Mackenzie's say he was starved for three months and survived on food scraps that neighbor kids would give him. He's been living at Mackenzie's for almost two years now and he's ready for a bright future and a home to call his own. Hungry Howie loves to meet new people, play with other dogs and go for walks, and he loves to eat! He's up to date on all of his vaccinations and he's microchipped and ready to be part of your family. If you would like to meet Hungry Howie, contact Mackenzie's Animal Sanctuary. The cost of adopting is $150, and the process is very thorough, including visits at Mackenzie's and includes a visit to your home.
