How you can help stop the violence

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - In the past several weeks, Grand Rapids has seen too many people die as a result of violence. Tonight, 24 Hour News 8 is taking you beyond those headlines to find out what you can do to help end it.

"Beyond the Violence" is a town hall meeting airing tonight at 7 p.m. on WOOD TV. This hour special will bring together those touched by violence, including police chiefs, school officials, former gang members, victims of violence, pastors and psychologists.

The special will look at why these crimes are taking place, why they remain unsolved and what is the solution to put a stop to these tragic events.
