GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Our nation is still healing from the horrible tragedy in Newtown that killed 20 children and 6 adults. It is hard to watch the news coverage and read the updated and not ask yourself, "W hat can I do to help?"
Three area museums are giving West Michigan families an opportunity to do just that on January 26. The Grand Rapids Children's Museum , Grand Rapids Art Museum and the Public Museum of Grand Rapids are collecting donations for a special project that's underway in Newtown.
Newtown current does not have a children's museum, but has been in the process or raising funds to build the EverWonder Children's Museum. According to their website , this place will be focused on building a bright spot for the children and families of the community. To help give the gift of play to a town so deserving, these three Grand Rapids cultural institutions will be donating $1.00 of every admission to the EverWonder Children's Museum efforts.
