GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Inspired by the announcement of the donation of a major gift of 24 works forming the complete series
The Flight into Egypt by the Italian artist Giovanni Domenico Tiepolo, the Grand Rapids Art Museum
invites you to explore the many reasons to celebrate the holiday season and get a glimpse of a big exhibition
to open in Spring 2013. Inspiration comes in many forms, but some of the most famous artists in the world have drawn inspiration from the same place - the Bible. A series of prints can be previewed at the Grand Rapids Art Museum until January 6, 2013. Each shows the journey of Jesus Christ depicted by artists in five different centuries. Works from Rembrandt to Giovanni Domenico Tiepolo are part of the collection with some works that are available for viewing for the first time. Rachael shows us inside and introduces us to the couple who gave the gift of art for all of us to enjoy. The full exhibition opens March 8 at the Grand Rapids Art Museum. The GRAM is open during the evening on New Year's Eve and on New Year's Day.
