GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Heart and vascular disease is the number one killer of women. More than 15,000 women die from heart and vascular disease each year in Michigan and more than 450,000 die each year nationally. Even more concerning is that women at younger and younger ages are being affected by heart disease.
Women need to know their risk factors for heart disease, which include high blood pressure, high cholesterol and triglycerides, diabetes, smoking, vascular disease, obesity and sedentary lifestyle.
