GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - With football season in full swing, lots of tailgating is planned from Big 10 backyards to hometown high school parking lots to the spot between your sofa and the big screen.  Spartan Stores Chef Amy Sherman puts on her jersey and shares some of her favorite dishes to delight fans of all ages on game day. Here are some recipes to share and enjoy!

Monster Cookies
3 eggs
1¾ cups packed light brown sugar
¼ cup granulated sugar
½ tsp. salt
½ tsp. vanilla extract
1½ cups crunchy peanut butter
½ cup butter, softened
1 cup chocolate chips
¼ cup golden raisins, optional
2 tsp. baking soda
4½ cups rolled oats

Preheat oven to 350 degree. In a very large mixing bowl, cream the eggs and sugars together with an electric mixer. Add salt, vanilla, peanut butter, and butter. With a spatula, mix to blend well. Add chocolate chips, raisins, baking soda, and oats. Stir until everything is combined. With a tablespoon, scoop up cookie batter and drop onto cookie sheets, 2 inches apart. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Let stand about 3 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool.

Root Beer Brownies
2 packages Duncan Hines brownie mix
6 eggs
3/4 cup root beer
1/4 cup oil
1 12 oz package mini chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350.  Mix everything together.  Pour into a 9x13 pan lined with parchment paper.  Bake for about 1 hour, or until just set in the middle, turning the pan halfway through cooking.  Cool, then lift the brownies out of the pan.  Cut into squares, then wrap in parchment.
