Hospice of Michigan hosts Opening Day event

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Attention Detroit Tigers fans!  There's something special brewing in West Michigan for you.  Hospice of Michigan is hosting the Grand Rapids premiere of 'Ernie, The Play' which recounts the life of beloved Detroit Tigers' broadcaster Ernie Harwell.  Marcie Hillary from Hospice of Michigan who will benefit from the event and Jeff Connolly of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, a sponsor of Ernie, share details of The Opening Day and introduce us to Howie Bailey, a native of Grand Haven and a former Tigers' pitcher.  The play, Ernie, was written by renowned author, playwright, broadcast personality and award-winning columnist Mitch Albom.  It's a tale about living life to its fullest, with memorable baseball moments woven throughout featuring actual footage from historic baseball games. eightWest is giving one lucky winner two tickets to the Opening Day of Ernie including the opportunity to get autographs following the performance on September 12, cocktails and dinner at the Amway Grand Plaza before the event and a ride to and from Wealthy Theatre to see Ernie, The Play.  Register now for a chance to win!
