HOLLAND, Mich. (WOOD) - On March 8 and 9, Hope College is hosting their annual "Dance Marathon" to raise funds on behalf of Helen DeVos Children's Hospital in an effort to increase awareness of the hospital's work. The toe tapping 24-hour event brings in stellar results as last year's outing raised $92,444.32 with nearly 700 students participating, pushing the cumulative 13-year total for the event to over $1 million.
Led entirely by Hope College students entitled the 'Dream Team,' the year-long commitment has members spend the year organizing fundraisers, recruiting dancers, coordinating events with the Miracle Families and of course, attending to every last detail of the marathon itself. Currently, more than 600 Hope College students contribute as members of planning committees or as dancers.
Helen DeVos Children's Hospital is the only hospital in West Michigan dedicated to providing comprehensive care to children. It serves as a referral center for newborns, infants, children, and adolescents.
