WIN A WEST WEDDING WITH BOBBY J GIVEAWAY

OFFICIAL RULES

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCE OF WINNING.

1.    HOW TO ENTER
1.    The Win a West Wedding with Bobby J Giveaway will begin on August 22, 2012, and end on October 10, 2012. The Wedding will occur on 12/12/12.

2.    To participate in the contest, you may enter by filling out the contest form on woodtv.com by 11:59 p.m. Eastern time on September 4, 2012, including either 1) a photo of the participants and an essay (500 words or less) or 2) a photo and a video (5 minutes or less) explaining why the participants should win their dream wedding.  Incomplete entries will not be accepted. The photo must be yours and must not contain any intellectual property rights of another.  Specifically, PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.  The photograph must not contain any nudity, logos, or other inappropriate content in the sole discretion of the Station.

3.    The Station is not responsible for Internet transmission errors, illegible entries, service outages, delays, busy signals, equipment malfunctions and any other technological difficulties that may prevent transmitting his/her entry.

4.    After all contest entries have been received, on September 5,WOOD TV8 will choose the Top 6 couples to move on to round 2.   Judging will be done by WOOD-TV personnel and based on: 25% creativity of entry, 75% content of entry, including uniqueness of story and couple’s personality.  The Top 6 will be notified by phone on September 17, 2012, following the EightWest televised announcement on September 17th, 2012.  Top 6 couples must respond by phone within 48 hours of being notified or will be disqualified.  If a Top 6 couple is disqualified WOOD TV8 will choose an alternative winner based on the original selection process.

5.    On Wednesday September 17th, The Top 6 couples photos and bios will be posted on woodtv.com.  At this time viewers will then be able to log onto woodtv.com and vote for their favorite couple out of the Top 6.   Judges votes count for 75% of each contestants score.  Judges votes are on the following criteria: likeability and personality.  Online votes count for 25% of the contestant’s final score toward the selection of the winner.  The couples with the Top 3 scores will move on to round 3.  Voting will close on 10/1/12 at 11:59pm EST.  The Top 3 couples will be notified by phone on 10/3/12, following the EightWest televised announcement on 10/3/12.  Top 3 couples must respond by phone within 48 hours of being notified or will be disqualified.  If a Top 3 couple is disqualified then WOOD TV8 will choose an alternative winner.  The alternative winner will be selected based on which couple has the second highest score in round 2 of the contest and such alternate will continue for the next-highest eligible Winner until an ultimate Winner is foun

7.    The Top 3 couples will be required to come into the WOOD TV8 studios for the televised eightWest announcement of the winning couple on 10/10/12 from 8:30am-10:30am.  Top 3 couples must sign a Finalist Certification Form and/or other standard station paperwork.  If a Top 3 couple fails to appear or execute appropriate paperwork they will be disqualified from the contest and WOOD TV8 will choose an alternative couple. The alternative winner will be selected based on which couple has the second highest score in round 2 of the contest and such alternate will continue for the next-highest eligible Winner until an ultimate Winner is found.

8.    On 10/3/12, the top 3 couples and bios will be posted on woodtv.com.  At this time viewers will then be able to log on to woodtv.com and vote for their favorite couple out of the Top 3.   Judges votes count for 75% of each contestants score.  Judges will vote based on the  following criteria: likeability and personality. Online votes count for 25% of the contestant’s final score toward the selection of the winner.  The couple will the highest score will be named the winner.  Voting will close on 10/8/12 at 11:59pm EST.

9.    On 10/10/12, WOOD TV8 in its sole editorial discretion, will announce the winning couple during a taping of EightWest (8:30am-10:30am on 10/10/12).  Winner MUST be present to win.  If winning couple is not present they will be disqualified from the contest and WOOD TV8 will choose an alternative couple. The alternative winner will be selected based on which couple has the second highest score in round 3 of the contest and such alternate will continue for the next-highest eligible Winner until an ultimate Winner is found.

10.   

a.    All Top 3 finalists must pass a criminal background check.  If the criminal background check reveals criminal convictions they will be disqualified from the contest and WOOD TV8 will choose an alternative couple. The alternative winner will be selected based on which couple has the second highest score in round 2 of the contest and such alternate will continue for the next-highest eligible Winner until an ultimate Winner is found.

b.    Winner must execute and return the required station paperwork which includes: West Wedding contract and any liability/publicity release within two (2) days of notification attempt or prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner may be chosen by a combination of judging panel votes, background check and station management input. If a potential winner cannot be contacted, fails to sign and return the required paperwork, contract and liability/publicity release within the required time period, or if a prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, potential winner forfeits prize. If winning couple does not complete the station paperwork within 48 hours of receiving it, they will be disqualified from the contest and WOOD TV8 will choose an alternative couple. The alternative winner will be selected based on which couple has the second highest score in round 3 of the contest and such alternate will continue for the next-highest eligible Winner until an ultimate Winner is found.

c.    It is the winner’s responsibility to make any necessary arrangements to be able to participate in all wedding planning events.  The winner will be featured on eightWest on-air, print, digital media, and any other elements within the station’s image.

d.     Documentation showing age over 18

e.    Applications for the online entries will only be considered eligible if they are complete, and entrants agree that they are above the age of 18 through online validation.

f.    ONE ENTRY PER COUPLE. 

g.    All applications, photos and material submitted for the Win A West Wedding become the property of the Station and will not be returned to the applicants.

h.    All dates, times and locations and requirements listed in these official rules and in the application are subject to change.

11.    The winning couple will be awarded a prize package of gift certificates that includes items that will be voted on and determined by an online vote.  The gift certificates to vendors will only be redeemable for the items chosen per the below procedures. 

a.    Brides dress & Tuxes.  On Wednesday 10/24/12, three dress choices provided by Alfred Angelo, and three tuxedo choices provided by Afendoulis will be posted on woodtv.com.  At this time viewers will then be able to log onto woodtv.com and vote for their favorite dress.   Online votes count for 49% of the voting score. Judges votes count for 51%.  Judges will vote based on the following criteria: compatibility of prize with the couple’s personality. Voting will close on 10/29/12 at 11:59pm EST.  The winning dress choice will be announced during the broadcast of eightwest on 12/5/12.

b.    Venue.  On Wednesday 10/31/12, three venue choices provided by West Michigan Caterer will be posted on woodtv.com.  At this time viewers will then be able to log onto woodtv.com and vote for their favorite venue.   Online votes count for 49% of the voting score. Judges votes count for 51%.  Judges will vote based on the following criteria: compatibility of prize with the couple’s personality. Voting will close on 11/5/12 at 11:59pm EST.  The winning venue choice will be announced during the broadcast of eightwest on 12/5/12.

c.    Flowers.  On Wednesday 11/7/12, three floral package choices provided by Arrangements Fresh Flower Market will be posted on woodtv.com.  At this time viewers will then be able to log onto woodtv.com and vote for their favorite floral package.  Online votes count for 49% of the voting score. Judges votes count for 51%.  Judges will vote based on the  following criteria: compatibility of prize with the couple’s personality. Voting will close on 11/12/12 at 11:59pm EST.  The winning floral package choice will be announced during the broadcast of eightwest on 12/5/12.

d.    Honeymoon.  On Wednesday 11/14/12, three honeymoon package choices will be posted on woodtv.com.  At this time viewers will then be able to log onto woodtv.com and vote for their favorite honeymoon package. Online votes count for 49% of the voting score. Judges votes count for 51%.  Judges will vote based on the  following criteria: compatibility of prize with the couple’s personality. Voting will close on 11/19/12 at 11:59pm EST.  The winning honeymoon package choice will be announced during the broadcast of eightwest on 12/5/12.

e.    Cake.  On Wednesday 11/21/12, three cake choices provided by Stiletto Sweets will be posted on woodtv.com.  At this time viewers will then be able to log onto woodtv.com and vote for their favorite cake.   Online votes count for 49% of the voting score. Judges votes count for 51%.  Judges will vote based on the following criteria: compatibility of prize with the couple’s personality.  Voting will close on 11/26/12 at 11:59pm EST.  The winning cake choice will be announced during the broadcast of eightwest on 12/5/12.

f.    Menu.  On Wednesday 11/28/12, three menu package choices provided by West Michigan Caterer will be posted on woodtv.com.  At this time viewers will then be able to log onto woodtv.com and vote for their favorite menu package.   Online votes count for 49% of the voting score. Judges votes count for 51%.  Judges will vote based on the following criteria: compatibility of prize with the couple’s personality. Voting will close on 12/3/12 at 11:59pm EST.  The winning menu package choice will be announced during the broadcast of eightwest on 12/5/12

2.    ELIGIBILITY RESTRICTIONS

1.    The contest is open to all WOOD TV8 viewers who are 18 years of age or older and who legally reside in the west Michigan viewing area. Employees of WOOD TV8/WOTV 4/WXSP-TV (the "Station"), its licensee, its corporate parents, subsidiaries, and affiliates, its advertising agencies, participating sponsors/promotional partners, other television stations in the west Michigan viewing area and the members of their immediate families are ineligible to participate or win. Subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited.

2.    Only one winner per household is permitted in any Station contest.  For the purpose of this contest, a “Winner” is two individuals who will get married on 12/12/12.  If a couple cannot or will not get married on 12/12/12, they cannot be considered a “Winner” hereunder.  Individuals without a partner are not eligible.

3.    PRIZES

1.    Win a West Wedding MUST occur on 12/12/12.  One (1) winning couple will receive gift certificates for a West Wedding for 100 guests by Bobby J on Dec. 12, 2012 as described further below.  All gift certificates must be used solely for the purpose of the wedding on 12/12/12.  Any remaining value will be forfeited if not used for this purpose.

2.    The wedding will occur at one of West Michigan Caterings following locations: Laketown Golf & Conference Center, Saugatuck, or St. George's Banquet & Conference Center, Grand Rapids, or Centennial Country Club, Grand Rapids.

3.    Each sponsor will provide 3 choices for the prizes listed below.  The 3 prize choices will be voted on in an online vote on woodtv.com.  The prize with the most votes will be the prize that the winning couple MUST purchase with their gift certificate.

4.     Package includes the following:

a.    A gift certificate for $1500 for a wedding venue one of the following locations on 12/12/12 (subject to availability): (Laketown Golf & Conference Center, Saugatuck, or St. George's Banquet & Conference Center, Grand Rapids, or Centennial Country Club, Grand Rapids.) Guest list cannot exceed 100 people.

b.    A gift certificate for $5406 for a wedding menu for 100 people from West Michigan Catering

c.    A gift certificate for $700 for Specialty linens and chair covers for the reception from Special Occasions

d.    A gift certificate for $1188 for a Tuxedo for the groom, 4 groomsmen tuxes, 2 fathers tuxes from Afendoulis.

e.    A gift certificate for $1,000 for a wedding gown from Alfred Angelo

f.    A gift certificate for $800 for a wedding cake from Stiletto Sweets for 100 people

g.    A gift certificate for $1059 for D.J. services for the reception provided by Rich Reuther Productions

h.    A gift certificate for $1000 for Hair and makeup for the bride, 4 bridesmaids, 2 moms from Jeffrey Richards Salon

i.    A gift certificate for $1700 for a floral package consisting of a 12 floral centerpieces, bridal bouquet, five bridesmaids' bouquets, 1 toss bouquet, 9  boutonnieres and 2 mother’s corsages from Arrangements Fresh Flower Market

j.    A gift certificate for $2500 for wedding photography package from Amy Rice Photography

k.    A gift certificate for $950 for Shutterbooth services at your reception

l.    A gift certificate for $3000 for a honeymoon package

Total retail value: approximately $20,863.00.

1B. This prize package does NOT include:
•    Invitations
•    Wedding rings
•    Alcohol at the reception
•    Marriage License
•    Blood tests
•    Any church related items (minister fee, church fee, music, flowers ect.)
•    Party Favors
•    Videographer
•    Invitations
•    Transportation to church or from church to reception
•    Additional wedding expenses

5.    The Station will contact the Winner with instructions on how to claim the prize.

6.    There is no substitution, transfer, or cash equivalent for prizes, except that the Station may, at its sole discretion, substitute prizes of comparable value or cash. The prizes are expressly limited to the item(s) listed above and do not include taxes, gratuities or any other expenses. Other restrictions may apply.

4.    WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION

1.    Decisions of the Station management with respect to the contest are final.

2.    A winner is a couple who gets married on 12/12/12.

3.    Winners will be announced on 10/10/12, based on likeability and personality. All decisions by the Station are final and are not subject to appeal or review.

4.    Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.

5.    Winner will be announced on EightWest on 10/10/12.  Winner will be notified by phone or e-mail. If a potential winner cannot be contacted, fails to sign and return the required affidavit of eligibility and/or liability/publicity release within the required time period, or if a prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, potential winner forfeits prize.

6.    An alternative winner will be chosen if the winning couple becomes disqualified or is unable to fulfill the obligations of this contest.  The alternative winner must be a couple who gets married on 12/12/12.  The alternative winner will be selected based on which couple has the second highest score in round 3 of the contest and such alternate will continue for the next-highest eligible Winner until an ultimate Winner is found

5.    CONDITIONS

1.    Payments of all federal, state and local taxes are solely the responsibility of the winners. Winners may be required to sign an IRS Form W-9 or the equivalent.

2.    All finalists will be required to sign station paperwork stating they understand the conditions of this contest.

3.    The winning couple will be required to pay taxes on the items listed in the prize package.  W-9’s will be issued and the bride will be required to pay 50% of the taxable prizes and the groom will be required to pay 50% of the taxable prizes.

4.    By participating in the contest, participants agree to have their name, voice, or likeness used in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to this contest without additional financial or other compensation, and, where legal, to sign a publicity release confirming such consent prior to acceptance of the prize. The Website’s Terms of Service apply to any online portions of this Contest.

5.    Prior to awarding any prize or prize certificate, the Station in its sole discretion may require contest winners (and their travel companions, if any) to sign a liability release, agreeing to hold the Station, its corporate licensee, its parent, subsidiary and affiliated corporations, and the officers, shareholders, directors, employees, agents and representatives of each of them harmless against any and all claims or liability arising directly or indirectly from the prize or participation in the contest.

6.    The Station reserves the right to make changes in the rules of the contest, including the substitution of a prize or equivalent value, which will become effective upon announcement.

7.    Failure to comply with the contest rules or the Station's website Terms of Service may result in an entrant's disqualification solely at the discretion of the Station.

8.    The Station is not responsible for typographical or other errors in the printing, the offering or the administration of the contest, or in the announcement of a prize.

10.    If the winning couple would like to invite more than the 100 guest maximum provided in the prize package they will be responsible for any and all related costs, including tax and gratuity to each vendor.
