GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - It's hard to leave your house without passing a Salvation Army Red Kettle during the holiday season, but you may not know what the coins that clang in those kettles go to support. Eva Aguirre Cooper takes us to Little Pine Island Camp, a spot dedicated to helping children build positive summer memories, a program made possible through generous community donations. The Salvation Army hopes to raise $1.7 million this year to fund programs like Little Pine Island Camp.
