GRANDVILLE, Mich. (WOOD) - Certain foods are in their prime in the autumn like apples, tomatoes and squash and that's why we call fall harvest time.  In order to capture all of that fresh goodness to last all through the winter, Terri takes us inside the Spartan Culinary Classroom for a crash course in canning with chef Amy Sherman.  It's really important for safety's sake to follow the directions for proper canning techniques to make sure you are preserving produce correctly.  You can find all of the essentials from the canning jars and lids to the how-to books at your favorite Spartan Store , plus lots of fresh produce of the season. Amy's an expert in another area, too.  You can see her as part of a new show "The Great American Brew Trail" which airs Fridays at 7:30 p.m. on WOTV 4 Women.
