PORTAGE, Mich. (WOOD) - 2013 is the year to resolve to be a better employee. Good employees often find themselves in good jobs, and that's no accident. Emily Turner of OnStaff USA has tips on how you can become sought after in this competitive employment market place. A few pointers can help you stand out:
Practice the hard stuff. Set goals slightly beyond your current abilities and list specific actions that advance you toward that goal. Get out of your comfort zone. True standouts develop rare and valuable skills which take practice.
Redo your to-do list. Determine what actions you must take to reach your goals and break that down into components, then find opportunities to take actions to reach those goals
Exercise the power of persuasion. Finding common ground creates consensus. This is good for internal and external customers. Finding similarities between you and your customer allows you to break the ice.
Stay on task. A well directed reminder here and there to ourselves of what our goals are should push us in the right direction of obtaining those goals.
OnStaff USA is always looking for talented candidates for professional, technical and temporary positions. Check out all of their openings at www.onstaffusa.com
