GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Schools of Hope is a mentoring program that pairs adult reading volunteers with kids who need an extra boost to get their skills up to grade. So far, the results are outstanding, but the need for more help keeps growing. 30 minutes once a week. That's all it takes. Rachael and Terri make a plea for more mentors for this Heart of West Michigan United Way program in Grand Rapids...and for many more programs that pair kids with helpers across West Michigan.
