JENISON, Mich. (WOOD) - At Waterford Place in Jenison, a royal celebration is underway. Pastry Chef Sara Minerd works hard to make each meal special and this week, she's treating residents to a dish fit for a princess - Kate's favorite dessert, English Toffee Pudding. It's similar to molasses cake and every crumb is worth the calories. Here's the recipe so you can share it in your kingdom:

Kate's English Toffee Pudding
Recipe for cake:
-Cover 8oz of dates with boiling water (set aside)
-Beat 3 1/2 Tbls butter with one cup of brown sugar
-Beat in 2 eggs - one at a time
-Add 2 tb dark molasses, 1 tb corn syrup, 1 tsp vanilla
-Add 2 cups self-rising flour
-Puree 8oz dates and add 1 tb baking soda
-spray with pan spray and pour into pan
-place in a roasting pan with 1 inch of water
-bake at 375 for 35 minutes
Recipe for sauce:
-melt 1/2 cup sugar + 7tb of butter until turns a deep amber color
-Stir in 6oz heavy cream
-cook until thick enough to coat with a spoon
Pour over cake, garnish and enjoy!
