GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Celebration! Cinema has a commitment to a 10% reduction in energy use in 2010. They are sharing both a regional and a more global environmental story on movie screens this month. For example, many groups are coming to see 'Mysteries Of The Great Lakes' on the IMAX screen at Celebration North On April 22, the Disney Nature film "Oceans" opens in all Celebration locations. Celebration is also engaged in an advocacy & fundraising effort called the Great Lakes Stewardship Initiative. It serves to equip public, private and charter schools with resources needed to research, design and put into action classroom projects that help to protect the environment and save the Great Lakes. It does this through professional development for teachers, connecting schools with a wide network of community organizations for expertise, guidance and support of projects, and through classroom funding. You can get involved now by purchasing a limited edition green wristband this week through May 6 for just one dollar. The funds raised will go to this initiative and help classroom projects succeed
