GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - You've probably seen the recognizable "yellow smiley face" on billboards, storefront windows and t-shirts around town. That's a sure sign that Gilda's LaughFest is almost here! Gilda’s LaughFest, the nation’s first ever community wide festival of laughter, and kicks off their third year on March 8, 2013.
Created by Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids, the 10 day festival features stand-up, improv, film, authors, community showcases and a variety of seriously funny stuff. LaughFest isn’t a comedy festival, it truly is a festival of laughter, bringing together an audience of children and adults to honor laughter as an essential part of emotional health and well being.
Over the 10 days there will be daily performances taking place at venues through out downtown Grand Rapids. Some of the headliners include Wayne Brady, Lewis Black, Joel McHale, D.L. Hughley and Jim Bruer. Families can participate in Kids Day and Teen Night activities as well as fun performances by Strawberry Shortcake and Secret Agent 23 Skidoo.
